Officials also expect Interstate-40 to remain closed between Atrisco Vista and the Rio Puerco, near Route 66 casino for quite some time. Debris, spread across the interstate, will likely take hours to clean up, authorities say.
Motorists who are heading west are being advised to use Highway 6 as an alternate route. Transportation Nation Network will continue to follow this developing story.
