4-Wheeler Runs A Stop Sign And Sends A Trucker To An Early Grave
Holton Township, Michigan – The Muskegon County Sheriff’s Department has released details of a senseless crash that happened this past weekend that sadly took the life of a truck driver.
The crash happened about 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, September 23rd at the intersection of Maple Island Road and Marvin Road, which is right on the border with Newaygo County. Deputies say a driver in a black Honda CRV was heading west on 80th Avenue and ran a stop stop sign at Maple Island. The CRV hit the semi-truck which was heading south on Maple Island. The tractor-trailer then rolled over onto its cab. The trucker became trapped inside and was later pronounced dead on the scene by emergency medical personnel.
The deceased truck driver has been identified as Joseph Pell of Fremont, Michigan. The driver of the CRV and his passenger were treated for minor injuries. An investigation is still ongoing. It is unclear at this time if the driver of the CRV was impaired in any way or will be charged in the accident. We will continue to follow this story and bring you the latest as it develops.
