Altercation At Truck Stop Over Fender Bender Sends Driver To Hospital

Muskingum County, Ohio – An altercation between two truck drivers at a Loves Travel Stop sent one of them to the hospital on Tuesday.

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said two truck drivers were involved in a fender bender in the parking lot of the Loves along I-70 on Sonora Road on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a report by local news outlet Y City News, a driver became angry and left his truck following the minor accident.

He then began to climb up on the driver’s side of the other semi while it was in motion.

Lutz said the woman behind-the-wheel then slammed on the brakes causing the driver to fall and strike his head on the pavement which knocked him unconscious.

He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

However, the female driver then left the truck stop and authorities pursued her.

She was later stopped by a deputy farther down I-70 west near the State Street exit, according to the report.

According to Lutz, no charges are being filed at this time, but evidence will be presented to prosecutors, the report stated.

Transportation Nation Network will continue to monitor any new developments.
