
Arizona Windstorm Topples 6 Big Rigs and Claims Life of Trucker
Tonopah, AZ – Half a dozen semi-trucks were blown over along Interstate 10 in Arizona late Wednesday night, causing one fatality and another injury.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety (ADPS) reported the rollovers occurred in both the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-10, west of Tonopah around mile marker 83.
Authorities say two rollovers happened on the westbound side, while four occurred on the eastbound side.
One of the truckers, who has not been identified other than as a male, was killed as a result, according to police.
Investigators said one other truck driver sustained minor injuries.

The National Weather Service reported wind speeds in the area during the time of the incidents was between 40-50 miles per hour.
Arizona Department of Transportation was on-scene assisting with the investigation and cleanup efforts into the early morning hours on Thursday.
Both directions of I-10 were closed at one point due to the multiple-truck incidents.
