At Least One Dead in ‘Near Head On Collision’ Between Two Big Rigs

Putnam County, TN – At least one person was killed today in a collision between two big rigs along a Tennessee interstate.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), two tractor-trailers crashed in a “near head on collision” on Thursday.




 

The deadly accident occurred on Interstate 40 at the 273 mile marker.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the truckers involved or what led to the crash.

THP is asking travelers to seek alternate routes at this time.

An investigation remains ongoing.
