Check Out The Awesome Winners of This Year’s Shell Rotella SuperRigs Competition (PHOTOS)
Hampshire, IL – The 39th annual Shell Rotella SuperRigs competition — a truck beauty contest for actively working trucks — took place last week in northern Illinois and the results are in!
Held at the Love’s Travel Stop in Hampshire, IL, this year’s event boasted 70 entries from across the United States and Canada.
“All of the amazing trucks that come to Shell Rotella SuperRigs each year are a wonderful testament to the trucking industry,” Heather Wales, North American Brand and Communications Manager for Shell Rotella told Transportation Nation Network (TNN).
Trucker Kiegan Nelson and truck owner Vinnie Diorio of Richfield, WI was awarded “Best of Show” with their 2020 Peterbilt 389.
As the “Best of Show” winner, Nelson and Diorio were awarded $10,000 cash from Shell Rotella, along with 50,000 My Miles Matter reward points and placement in the 2022 Shell Rotella SuperRigs Calendar.
In addition to “Best of Show,” Nelson and Diorio captured the overall award for “Best Interior.”
“The Best of Show winner driven by Kiegan Nelson and owned by Vinnie Diorio is tremendous looking,” Wales commented. “The combination of black and red on the tractor and trailer is stunning and the red interior is gorgeous.”
First runner-up to “Best of Show” was Brian Dreher, of Campbellsport, WI, for his 2016 Peterbilt 389.
For his placement, he was presented $4,000 cash and 40,000 My Miles Matter reward points.
Dreher also won overall in the “Best Engine” category.
Second runner-up to “Best of Show” was Truett Novosad from College Station, TX for his 2007 Peterbilt 379.
He received $2,000 cash and 30,000 My Miles Matter reward points for his placement.
Novosad also won the “Best Chrome” and “Best Theme” categories.
“The hardworking drivers that come to SuperRigs are what make it such a great event and we appreciate their support,” Wales said.
Additional category winners from the 2021 event include:
• Barry Kuhn from Mount Aetna, PA in the “Tractor/Trailer Division” for his 2018 Kenworth W900L,
• Shani Lee of Sibley, LA in the “Tractor Division” with a 2007 Peterbilt 379 Legacy 995,
• JR Schleuger from Britt, IA won in the “Classic Division” with his 1985 Kenworth K100E,
• Daniel and Phyllis Snow of Harrison, AR won the “People’s Choice Award” for their 1996 Freightliner Classic XL.
All category winners also received My Miles Matter reward points from Shell Rotella.
In addition, the Snow’s also received the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) “Go Safely Award.”
The award, supported by Shell Rotella, honors the commitment of drivers to keeping themselves and others safe during the pandemic.
