CMV Enforcement Blitz Happening This Week Along Three Interstates in Arizona

Phoenix, AZ – A commercial motor vehicle (CMV) enforcement blitz is being conducted this week along three interstates in Arizona.

Troopers with Arizona Department of Public Safety’s (AZDPS) Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) unit will be stepping up inspection efforts along I-8, I-10, and I-19 across as part of Operation Southern Shield 2021.

The enforcement crackdown is set to begin Tuesday, March 2 and run through Friday, March 5.

AZDPS says officials will specifically target “hazardous violations, conduct commercial vehicle inspections, maintain awareness for human trafficking, and educate drivers on safe and compliant operation.”

Operation Southern Shield is being conducted in partnership with the Arizona Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and local police departments.
