Deadly Winter Storm Claims Life Of Another Trucker

Raleigh, North Carolina – North Carolina officials say a truck driver has died due to complications arising from a “heart attack” he suffered while trying to free his rig after getting stuck in the snowstorm along Interstate 77.

Yadkin County Emergency Services Director Keith Vestal said the tractor-trailer became stuck along Interstate 77 during the height of the storm on Sunday.

Vestal says the truck driver, whose identity has not yet been released, began suffering from chest pains as he was “shoveling out.” After freeing his rig, the driver was taken to a local hospital where he continued dealing with complications until he was later pronounced dead.

This is a developing story and Transportation Nation Network will continue to follow it and bring you the latest.
