“Distracted” Truck Driver Cited For Smashing Into Semi At Truck Stop

Grand Junction, Colorado A Western Express truck driver was cited for careless driving this morning after colliding with another semi in the parking lot of a Pilot Travel Center.

NBC News 11 reports an accident between two semis took place at approximately 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning at a Pilot Travel Center in Grand Junction, Colorado, along Highway 6 and 50. The Grand Junction Police Department was called to the scene and conducted an investigation which found the Western Express driver was “distracted” causing him to collide with the other tractor-trailer.

The Grand Junction Fire Department was also called to the scene to address a fuel leak resulting from the accident. An assessment of damage to the trucks was not released.

It’s another reminder to always be alert.
