First-Ever National Technician Appreciation Week Happening This Month
Alexandria, VA – The American Trucking Associations (ATA) is planning to celebrate the first-ever National Technician Appreciation Week (NTAW) this month.
In an announcement on Wednesday, the ATA said the inaugural NTAW is set for September 21-25 and will feature a series of virtual events and educational sessions.
The technically focused webinars will cover topics such as: after-treatment diagnostics & maintenance, electrical system diagnostics, vehicle data network diagnostics, collision mitigation systems, and how to prepare for automotive service excellent (ASE) certification testing.
“NTAW will provide an opportunity to celebrate the hard work and commitment of professional technicians,” an ATA release stated. “Professional technicians perform one of the most demanding and critical roles in trucking. This week will not only acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of these dedicated professionals, but also help attract prospective talent to one of the most in-demand careers in the industry.”
ATA along with the ATA Technology and Maintenance Council plan to use the occasion to recognize the country’s most exceptional technicians.
Industry stakeholders will be asked to nominate their “Technician Superstars,” who exemplify the highest levels of excellence and professionalism.
Winners will be selected for three categories: heavy-duty, trailer, and light/medium duty.
Additionally, the technician with the highest score on the ASE Preventive Maintenance Master Technician Certification Test for 2020 will also be recognized.
The ATA chose to make its announcement during this year’s National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW).
Each year ATA and its partners sponsor NTDAW to recognize and honor the contributions made by America’s 3.5 million professional truck drivers.
This year’s celebration runs from September 13 through 19.
