First Lady Thanks Truckers in Farewell White House Message

Washington D.C. – The First Lady of the United States of America gave a farewell address from the White House on Monday.

In a nearly 7-minute speech, Melania Trump poignantly expressed her appreciation for the honor of serving as First Lady and representing the people of America abroad as a goodwill ambassador.

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as the First Lady of the United States,” Mrs. Trump said. “The past four years have been unforgettable. As Donald and I conclude our time at the White House I think about all of the people I have taken home in my heart and their incredible stories of love, patriotism, and determination. I treasure each of my experiences and the inspiring people I have met along the way.”

She also addressed the immense challenges the country has faced while battling the pandemic.

Specifically, she thanked the thousands of frontline workers, including truckers, who kept America running during the initial dark days of widespread lockdowns.

“As the world continues to confront the COVID-19 pandemic, I thank all of the nurses, doctors, health care professionals, manufacturing workers, truck drivers and so many others who are working to save lives. In the midst of hardship we have seen the best of America shine through.”

In April of last year, President Trump hosted an unprecedented celebration of truckers on the South Lawn of the White House.

“In the war against the virus, the American truckers are the foot soldiers who are really carrying us to victory,” President Trump said. “To every trucker listening over the radio and behind the wheel, I know I speak for 330 million plus Americans and we say, ‘Thank God for truckers!’”

Mrs. Trump also thanked members of the U.S. military and the law enforcement community.

She urged all Americans to “focus on what unites us, to raise above what divides us, always choose love over hatred, peace over violence, and others before yourself.”

She concluded, “To all the people of this country, you will be in my heart forever. Thank you. God bless you and God bless the United States of America.”
