Flying Object Smashes Big Rig’s Windshield Leaving Trucker Seriously Injured

Portage, IN – A trucker was seriously injured on Wednesday along I-80/94 after a flying object smashed into his big rig’s windshield.

Indiana State Police (ISP) say the incident occurred at approximately 9:50 a.m. at the 17.4 mile marker.

Truck driver, Kahlil A. Blasingame, 23, from Phoenix, IL, operating for Cincinnati, OH-based CDS Transport Inc., was driving a 2011 Freightliner eastbound in the center lane when an object struck the windshield of his truck.

ISP investigators did not indicate what the object was believed to be.

However, the force of the collision penetrated the windshield which resulted in the glass shattering.
