Freedom Convoy Picks Up Support From Richest Person in the World
Ottawa, ON — The historic Freedom Convoy 2022 being led by Canadian truckers just picked up support from the richest person in the world.
On Thursday, Elon Musk, co-founder and CEO of Tesla, took to social media to express his feelings about the nationwide protest to Canada’s draconian COVID-19-related restrictions and mandates.
“Canadian truckers rule,” Musk Tweeted to his more than 71 million followers.

Notably, Musk, who is estimated to be worth nearly $270 billion, saw his fortune grow significantly during the pandemic.
In 2020, Tesla’s stock price rose over 740%, helping push Musk ahead of Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos — who also saw his net worth rise sharply — for the top spot among billionaires.
In fact, Musk is on track to become the world’s first trillionaire, due largely in part to his rocketry business, SpaceX.
The brash billionaire also stirred the pot a bit more in a subsequent Tweet reminding truckers, “CB radios are free from government [and] media control.”

Organizers of the Freedom Convoy have been vocal on social media about the surveillance and hacking measures they believe are being deployed against them.
In addition to Musk and the hundreds of thousands of Canadians ecstatic over the movement, some media and sports celebrities are also showing their support for the Freedom Convoy.
In a Tweet on Thursday, actor and comedian Rob Schneider mocked Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after he denounced the Freedom Convoy as a “small fringe” with “unacceptable views.”
“Trudeau may have to redefine what a ‘small fringe minority’ is… It’s stretching from Manitoba to Ontario!” the former Saturday Night Live star said.

Earlier this week, Transportation Nation Network (TNN) reported Canadian hockey legend Theo Fleury is also backing the protest.
“What we are seeing in the country right now with these truckers, it honestly has ignited the entire country,” Fleury told Fox News this week.
