
High Winds Topple 7 Big Rigs Along I-40 Bridge
Decatur County, TN – High winds wreaked havoc in Tennessee on Saturday as multiple big rigs were toppled along I-40 in Decatur County and Henderson County.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), straight line winds caused at least seven tractor-trailers to blow over onto their side while traveling on an I-40 bridge.
Straight line winds have overturned approximately 7 semi trucks on I-40 in Decatur and Henderson Counties. Investigators said big rigs were found partially blocking both the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-40 near the 134 mile marker.
Emergency crews closed travel to one lane in both directions as they worked to clear the area.
No update has been provided on the conditions of the truck drivers involved.
