I-80 SHUTDOWN: Snow Squall Leads to Multiple Road Closures in Wyoming
Cheyenne, WY – On Thursday afternoon, the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) announced the closure of all lanes of Interstate 80 between Cheyenne and Laramie due to winter weather.
Upon the announcement, WYDOT officials were hopeful the closure would be lifted late Thursday evening.
However, in an update issued at 6 p.m. local time Thursday, WYDOT extended the closure, estimating the re-opening would take place between 8-10 a.m. on Friday.
The route affected on I-80 is approximately 52 miles.
Additional road closures as a result of winter weather include portions of Interstate 25, US 18, US 20, US 26, US 30, US 85, US 87, US 191, US 287, WY 210, WY 225, and WY 789.

There is no estimated re-opening time for a majority of the above closures at this time.
Problems due to inclement weather began late Wednesday into Thursday morning, when accidents prompted the closure of US 287 between Rawlins and Muddy Gap.
Closure of US 287 is expected to last until 6-10 a.m. Friday, according to WYDOT.
Laramie County was under a snow squall warning briefly on Thursday afternoon.
