Investigation Ongoing After Man Found Shot Dead in Overturned Big Rig

San Antonio, TX – A man who authorities say had been shot was found dead in an overturned tractor-trailer this morning near downtown San Antonio.

According to multiple local news outlets, police discovered the overturned rig near the intersection of Casa Blanca and Austin Street, close to the I-35/I-37 interchange early Tuesday morning.

Investigators said the driver of the big rig took a turn from Casa Blanca onto Austin Street too fast, and rolled onto its side.

Upon further investigation, officers found a 45-year-old male inside the tractor who had been shot.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His identity has not yet been released.

It is also unclear if the man was the driver or a passenger inside the semi-truck.

Investigators are working to determine what led to the deadly incident.

However, multiple witnesses reported to authorities that they saw the tractor-trailer driving erratically in the minutes leading up to the crash.

Additionally, police said other witnesses reported a second man who was inside the truck ran from the scene after the crash.
