Love’s Pledges $450K to Combat “Racial Inequalities,” TA Opens Stop in TX
Little Rock, AR – In this edition of Truck Stop News: Love’s makes a $450,000 donation to combat “racial inequalities in the black community,” and opens a new stop in Georgia; TravelCenters of America (TA) opens a newly-branded store in Texas.
Love’s Travel Stops Pledges $450,000 in Fight Against “Racial Inequalities”
On Thursday, Love’s pledged it will donate $450,000 ($150,000 a year for the next three years) to the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City.
In making the announcement, the Love’s Family of Companies said it “stands against racism and affirms the value and equality of all people.”
“We have always valued the communities in which our customers and team members live and work. Love’s has had a long-standing partnership with the Urban League, and we are honored to continue to support their initiatives,” said Jenny Love Meyer, executive vice president and chief culture officer of Love’s. “We stand against all forms of racism and injustices.”
The Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City was established in 1946 as an affiliate of the National Urban League and is a United Way Partner Agency.
Love’s Opens New Stop in Georgia
Also on Thursday, Love’s announced it has opened a new location in Ellabell, GA.
The Ellabell store, located on U.S. Highway 280, features more than 11,400 square feet, 97 truck parking spaces, nine diesel bays, seven showers, Love’s Truck Care with on-site Speedco, a CAT Scale and a dog park.
Additionally, the store also offers an on-site Arby’s Restaurant.
The truck stop chain also found itself at the center of a firestorm this week after a Georgia police officer took to social media claiming she had been denied service at an on-site restaurant.

TA Opens Newly-Branded Store in Texas
TravelCenters of America has opened a new TA Express in Nacogdoches, TX.
The newly-branded TA Express is located near I-69 at US 59, at 2615 NW Stallings Drive.
The stop features 95 truck parking spaces, laundry facilities, a gaming room, and an on-site Denny’s.
The Nacogdoches location expands the company’s total nationwide network of travel centers to 268.
