Minnesota Authorities Searching For Trucker After Mysterious Semi-Truck Fire

St. Augusta, MN – Minnesota authorities are searching for a trucker after a semi-truck was found fully engulfed in flames along a county road late Wednesday night.

According to the Searns County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), the Department was alerted to reports of a semi-tractor fire on County Road 74, north of 240th Street, in St. Augusta just before 11 p.m.

When officials arrived, they discovered a 2016 red Freightliner tractor without a trailer, fully engulfed in flames.

SCSO said the truck was parked on the shoulder when it was found.

Mysteriously, the only person officials were able to locate was the passerby who called in the fire.

The whereabouts of the truck’s driver, along with the answer to why the semi was on the side of the road, is currently under investigation.

The blaze was put out by the St. Augusta Fire Department, but it was a total loss.

No other information was released by authorities.

SCSO is working to investigate in conjunction with the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
