Mississippi Police Say Trucker’s Disappearance is “Really Suspicious”

Gautier, MS – A trucker supposed to be en route from Fresno, California to Atlanta, Georgia went missing early this week in Mississippi.

According to the Gautier Police Department (GPD), Dimitri Rai Williams, 47, was last seen or heard from on Monday at approximately 6 a.m. after parking his big rig at a rest area along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near mile marker 63.

GPD reports at least one witness saw Williams get into the passenger side of a black SUV.

The unknown SUV had also reportedly followed Williams to that location.

GPD Interim Police Chief Danny Selover told local news outlet the Sun Herald, authorities have been in contact with both Williams’s employer and his wife.

Neither have heard from Williams since Monday which Selover said is “very unusual for him.”

“He’s a very dedicated worker. Nobody has heard from him. He hasn’t called his wife or anything,” Selover told the Sun Herald.

Additionally, Selover called the circumstances of Williams’s disappearance “really suspicious.”

Transportation Nation Network (TNN) spoke to a GPD representative on Wednesday and will bring you more information on this case as soon as we are able.

However, GPD has released a photo of Williams (see above).

GPD is asking for anyone with information to contact them at (228) 497-2486 or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at (877) 787-5898.
