However, police have now released the identity of the victim.

Victim Identified

Kevin Johnson of Floyd County, Kentucky, was pronounced dead on the scene after he was found with a gunshot wound to his chest at approximately 3:06 a.m. Thursday morning on Flowerfield Road in Flowerfield Township. Police have yet to shed any light on what Mr. Johnson might have been doing there.

Shortly after the suspected homicide, St. Joseph County Undersheriff Mark Lillywhite would not reveal precisely where Mr. Johnson’s body was discovered. We are now learning though that his body was in fact discovered in front of a residence near where his semi-truck was parked.

A resident of the neighborhood told local news outlet WSBT 22  that her husband heard men arguing loudly at around 2:30 a.m. and called the police. By the time the police arrived it was too late to save Mr. Johnson and those likely responsible for his death had fled.

Police have identified persons of interest though they have not yet revealed their identities. Police also confirmed they have been called to the exact residence where Mr. Johnson was shot and killed before. Their investigation is ongoing at this time.
