
Nearly $17 MILLION in Narcotics Seized From Big Rig Arriving From Mexico
Pharr, TX – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials seized nearly $17 million in narcotics from a big rig last week.
The massive drug enforcement action occurred on August 20, 2021, at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility.
Officials encountered a tractor-trailer arriving from Mexico and referred the vehicle for further inspection.
CBP said during the course of a physical inspection of the conveyance, officers discovered alleged methamphetamine weighing 1,202.62 lbs. (545.5 kg) concealed within the trailer.
Officials estimated the street value to be $16,836,500.
The shipment of drugs, as well as the vehicle, were seized and the case remains under investigation.
No information about the truck driver was disclosed.
