One Person Injured When Big Rig Smashes Into Taco Shop

Memphis, TN — One person was injured when a big rig crashed into a taco restaurant this week in Tennessee.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), the incident occurred in the early morning hours on Monday.

Investigators said a semi crashed into the Memphis Taco Shop located near the corner of Mendenhall and Shelby Drive.

The semi-truck, which was pulling a Tyson Foods’ trailer at the time, does not appear to be operated by a driver employed by Tyson, but rather a contracted owner-operator.

It remains unclear what led to the crash, but multiple local media outlets reported MPD investigators suspected another vehicle was also involved.

Transportation Nation Network reached out to MPD about the incident, but has yet to be provided with further information.

We will update this article when we are able to obtain more details.
