One Trucker Reportedly Dead After Tornado Topples Big Rigs Along Texas Interstate
Dallas, TX – One trucker is dead after a tornado overturned multiple tractor-trailers and passenger vehicles last night along a Texas interstate.
According to multiple local media reports, a tornado touched down and crossed Interstate 35E near Waxahachie on Monday night.
The deadly winds toppled at least two big rigs along with multiple other passenger vehicles.
Video from the scene reveals the mangled rigs.

Storm chaser Mike Predergast was on the scene and described to CBS News what he witnessed.
“It was a really bad accident … where the tornado crossed,” he said. “Several people that were a witness to it say they saw it cross. There were several cars that were thrown into the field next to (the interstate). There were at least two semis that were blown over and several cars involved as well in [the accident].”
His identity is not yet known.
Risk of more severe weather continues throughout major parts of the South this week.

The National Weather Service is warning of possible widespread strong to severe thunderstorm development today across the Deep South.
The primary risk will be scattered severe gusts resulting in wind damage and an accompanying risk for a few tornadoes.
