
Passenger Dies After Suspected Drunk Driver Plows Into Tractor-Trailer
Near Banks, Oregon – Authorities report one person died after a suspected drunk driver plowed into the rear of a tractor-trailer in a construction zone on Wednesday.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), a big rig was stopped due to construction along the Northwest Wilson River Highway just west of Banks a bit before 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
A passenger vehicle failed to slow and slammed into the rear of the trailer.
The passenger inside the car was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver, who police suspect of driving under the influence, did not sustain life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Authorities did not report injuries to the truck driver.
Police have not yet released the identities of those involved.
