Road Rage Battle Between Truckers Lands One of Them in Jail on Multiple Gun Charges

Waterbury, CT – A Missouri trucker is facing multiple gun charges after a road rage altercation with another truck driver along a Connecticut interstate.

According to the Connecticut State Police (CSP), the incident was first reported via a 9-1-1 call at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

CSP said the caller indicated two tractor-trailers operating westbound on Interstate 84 near Exit 23 were embroiled in a road rage battle and one of the drivers brandished a handgun.

Troop A officers were dispatched to the scene and later arrested 54-year-old Thomas M. Colburn of Cabool, MO.

Colburn was subsequently charged with multiple offenses including: weapons in a vehicle, possession of a firearm without a permit, possession of large-capacity magazines, threatening in the second degree, and breach of peace.

In a release, CSP investigators did not provide any further details about what is believed to have led to the incident or the identity of the other driver involved.

Colburn was later released on a $5,000 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 25 at 9 a.m.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident.
