Semi Hauling Septic Tank Collapses Bridge

Monroe, WA – A semi-truck hauling septic vaults collapsed a bridge on Monday sending the truck and its load into a creek below.

Snohomish County emergency officials were dispatched to the 20300 block of Old Owen Road, at around noon after receiving reports of a bridge collapse.

When officials arrived, they discovered the truck lying on its side in the creek.

A concrete septic tank the semi-truck was hauling was also in the water.

According to Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Courtney O’Keefe, the truck driver was able to crawl out of the truck before the cab plunged into the water.

He was uninjured in the accident.

According to O’Keefe, the bridge is privately owned and is located on private property.

It is unclear if the property owner displayed signage or notified the truck driver regarding the weight tolerance of the bridge.
