
Sleeping Driver Gets Big Rig Wake Up Call
City of Industry, CA – A motorist is lucky to be alive after authorities say he fell asleep and crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer on Thursday morning.
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LCFD), the scary accident occurred at approximately 9:35 a.m. at the intersection of Nogales Street and Arenth Avenue.
Investigators say the male motorist fell asleep and crashed into the rear of the tractor-trailer, becoming wedged underneath.
The LACFD released an incredible image of the wreckage.
Crews worked speedily to extract the driver, who amazingly lived to tell about it.
LACFD called it a “quick” but “difficult extraction.”
The motorist, whose identity was not released, incredibly only suffered minor injuries.
He was taken to a nearby hospital and authorities report he is in stable condition.
The trucker, whose identity was also withheld, was not injured.
