Speeding Truck Driver Hit With Felony Charges After Police Make Disturbing Discovery

Stanton, NE – A California truck driver is facing felony charges after a traffic stop last weekend in Nebraska led to a disturbing discovery.

According to the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), 35-year-old truck driver Jonathan Blekis, of Lodi, CA, was operating a tractor-trailer westbound on U.S. Hwy 275 last Friday at approximately 10 p.m. when he was clocked going 85 mph in a 65 mph zone.

Authorities also observed Blekis driving left of center.

After initiating a traffic stop, SCSO said the officer noticed Blekis “appeared to be under the influence.”

A search of the truck revealed Blekis was in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and suspected heroin.

Additionally, investigators reported finding “several hidden concealment points consistent with drug transport.”

The big rig was seized and towed from the scene.

Lodi was taken into custody and booked on felony drug charges.

SCSO said he remains jailed pending the posting of a cash bond.
