Three People Confirmed Dead in Crash Between Big Rig and SUV
Pasco County, FL — Three people died in a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle last weekend in Florida.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the accident occurred on Saturday along southbound Interstate 75 at mile marker 283.
Investigators said a big rig was traveling in the center lane when it began to change lanes into the path of an SUV traveling in the inside lane.
The SUV collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer leading to the driver of the SUV, identified only as a 57-year-old man from Clearwater Beach, FL, losing control and crashing.
FHP reported the driver, along with two passengers, a 53-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy, died at the scene.
The truck driver, whose identity was not released, was reportedly uninjured.
No charges have been filed in the crash though FHP said an investigation remains ongoing.
