Truck Driver and Passenger “Amazingly OK” After Plunging Into California River
Plumas County, CA – A truck driver and a passenger were deemed “amazingly ok” by California authorities after driving over the edge of a bridge and plunging into the river below.
The incident occurred on Friday along Highway 79.
According to the Butte County Fire Department (BCFD) the tractor-trailer traveled over the edge of the Tobin Bridge and into the Feather River below.
Officials say the trailer was loaded with empty pallets at the time of the crash.
“Amazingly both occupants of the crash are ok,” the BCFD wrote in a social media post.
Images from the scene reveal just how amazing it was.
BCFD shared multiple photos showing a half submerged Penske yellow day cab tractor and a heavily damaged trailer, presumably from the violent impact on the rocks.
