Truck Driver Caught On Dash Cam Sideswiping Police Cruiser Then Leaving Scene

Minneapolis, Minnesota – The Minnesota State Patrol is asking for your help in their search for a truck driver who sideswiped a police cruiser with his semi on Wednesday night in an apparent hit-and-run crash.

The crash happened on westbound I-94 at Mounds Boulevard around 9:25 p.m. The police officer was responding to a multiple vehicle crash when he pulled his cruiser off to the right side of the roadway with his emergency lights engaged.

Dash cam footage (below) shows the semi sideswiping the cruiser and continuing on without stopping.



Authorities believe the driver of the semi is a male between the ages of 50 and 60-years-old. The semi he was driving is red and sustained damage to the front passenger side.

The trooper was uninjured in the crash. Authorities are asking anyone with information or possible additional dash cam footage to contact the East Metro dispatch at (651)582-1509.
