Truck Driver Dies After Crashing Into High School Gym

Dallas County, Alabama – Investigators are still trying to determine what led to a fatal crash after a tractor-trailer plowed into a high school gymnasium on Monday in Alabama.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) and Selma Police Department (SPD) responded to a report of the accident at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

Officials said a big rig veered off of U.S. Highway 80 at mile marker 94 and crashed into the Southside High School Gymnasium, killing the driver, James Shannon Minter, 42, of Broxton, Georgia.

ALEA confirmed Mr. Minter died at the scene and miraculously, no one else was injured or harmed in the accident. However, investigators have not revealed their findings of what could have led to the deadly crash.
