Truck Driver Facing Animal Cruelty Charges After Hitting His Dog With Semi, Abandoning Him
Troy, Michigan – A Michigan truck driver is facing charges after allegedly hitting his dog with a semi-truck after the dog used the bathroom in the truck’s seat.
Seth Fletcher, 27, appeared in a Miami County court on Tuesday to face charges of animal cruelty and abandonment. Fletcher is also accused of striking the dog, whose name is Chapo, with a tree limb.
Fletcher reportedly abandoned Chapo at a rest area on I-75 in April. Fletcher turned himself in Monday for outstanding warrants related to the charges. Chapo is being held as evidence and being cared for in the Miami County Animal Shelter.
Judge Samuel Huffman set a cash bond at $1,000.
