Truck Driver Facing Vehicular Homicide Charge After 11-Vehicle Crash Kills 3 People, Injures 7 More
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – A truck driver is facing multiple charges including vehicular homicide and DUI after a crash on Interstate 83 in Dauphin County, PA, Friday night left three people dead, including an 18-month-old toddler, and injured 7 more.
Police say 29-year-old Jack Edward Satterfield, from McComb, Mississippi, was driving a tractor trailer owned by Green Tree Logistics, around 8:30 p.m Friday night when he failed to stop for traffic and struck vehicles in the left and center lanes. According to authorities, 24-year-old Zachary Lybrand from Middletown, a female toddler also from Middletown, and 22-year-old Ethan VanBochoven from Pompton Plains, New Jersey, were killed in the crashed.
The 7 injured motorists were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries according to authorities. Police are still investigating why traffic had slowed before the crash. A total of 11 vehicles were involved in the accident.
