Truck Driver Killed While Standing Near Disabled Rig Along Shoulder of Ohio Interstate

Forest Park, OH – A 30-year-old truck driver was tragically struck and killed by a motorist along the shoulder of an Ohio interstate this weekend.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) has identified Robert Crouch, of Morgantown, WV, as the deceased in an accident which occurred on Saturday at approximately 5 p.m.

The deadly incident unfolded along the eastbound lanes on Interstate 275.

OSHP said Crouch was standing along the shoulder near his big rig — which had become disabled — when the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer took “evasive action” to avoid striking another passenger vehicle.

However, the Chevrolet SUV collided with the vehicle before leaving the right side of the roadway and striking Crouch.

The trucker was pronounced dead on the scene, OSHP informed.

According to his Facebook page, Crouch was employed by P&S Transportation.

He leaves behind an infant child and a fiancée.

So far, no charges in the deadly accident have been filed.

The crash remains under investigation by OSHP.
