Truck Driver Makes “Miracle” Delivery
Summit, New Jersey – A truck driver in New Jersey recently made a very unique and unexpected delivery: a six week old kitten.
The tiny passenger was found stowaway in the frame of a semi-truck on June 25.
While the truck driver was traveling on Route 24, another motorist noticed the kitten “hanging for dear life,” according to a local New Jersey animal rescue.
The concerned motorist flagged down the truck driver, who then called Summit Police Department (SPD) for help.
With the help of the trucker, they safely removed the tiny calico kitten from the undercarriage of the tractor-trailer.
It’s unknown how long she had been on the truck, though the driver told authorities he began his route in Readington — about 30 miles west of where he was flagged down.
The trucker said he was traveling at speeds as fast at 70 mph.
The kitten — who was understandably “terrified” and covered in fleas and hot grease — eventually found herself in the care of 911 Dog and Cat Rescue in Morris County.
She was appropriately named “Miracle.”
As if the story couldn’t get any better, one of the responding officers who helped rescue Miracle officially adopted the now-healthy kitten last week.
“We love this story and the happy outcome,” said the team at 911 Dog and Cat Rescue.
