
Truck Driver Perishes In Fiery Crash After Colliding With Disabled Car
Henrico County, Virginia – A truck driver perished on Wednesday after the tractor-trailer he was operating struck the rear of a disabled passenger vehicle parked along the shoulder of Interstate 95 in Henrico County.
According to Virginia State Patrol (VSP) the crash occurred along southbound I-95 near Brook Road at 4:52 a.m.
Investigators said the tractor-trailer struck the disabled sedan which was parked along the right side of the roadway.
After striking the car, the tractor-trailer ran off the right side of the road and overturned in the woods nearby igniting a fire which engulfed the cab of the truck.
The truck driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
His identity has yet to be released.
No other injuries were reported according to VSP.
Police say their investigation is ongoing.
