Trucker Arrested for Selling Load of Chicken He Was Supposed to Deliver

Harrison, OH – A Georgia truck driver is in jail after police say he illegally sold chickens he was contracted to deliver.

According to the Harrison Police Department (HPD), Thomas Derwin Blair, 58, is charged with theft of cargo greater than $200,000, which is a felony.

HPD officers approached Blair on Tuesday at approximately 3 p.m. along Interstate 74 where his Freightliner semi-tractor trailer was parked.

After identifying him, officers determined Blair had an open warrant for his arrest out of Dallas, TX.

According to HPD, in April of last year, Blair was hired to drive 22 pallets of chicken to a company, but instead of delivering it, he sold some or all of it to another person.

HPD says Blair is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center awaiting extradition to Texas.
