
Trucker Arriving From Mexico Arrested in $2.5 MILLION Cocaine Smuggling Bust
Roma, TX — A trucker arriving from Mexico was arrested last week by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in a large drug smuggling bust.
The incident occurred on Thursday, February 24, at the Roma Port of Entry cargo facility.
According to CBP, officers assigned to the Roma International Bridge cargo facility encountered a commercial tractor-trailer arriving from Mexico.
A CBP officer referred the conveyance for further inspection resulting in officers discovering and seizing packages containing 329.37 pounds (149.4 kg) of alleged cocaine concealed within the trailer.
The truck driver, who CBP did not identify, was arrested and turned over to the Roma Police Department for further investigation.
