Trucker Barely Escapes With His Life After Steel Beam Crashes Through Semi
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – A truck driver barely escaped with his life on Friday morning after a steel I-beam he was hauling came crashing through the cab of his semi-truck.
Rescue crews from Oklahoma City and Mustang fire departments responded to the single-vehicle crash at about 11:30 a.m. near Southwest 59th Street and Cimarron Road.
Officials discovered the driver alert but trapped inside the truck by the steel beam which impaled the cab and was protruding through the front of semi.
Crews worked to successfully extricate the driver.
According to officials, the driver was injured and taken to a local hospital.
It is unclear what caused the load to shift.
An investigation remains ongoing.
