Trucker Busted Swiping “Large Quantity” of Cargo After Police Tipped Off By His Company
Twiggs County, GA – A Georgia truck driver is facing multiple counts of felony theft by taking after authorities were tipped off by his company.
According to the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO), Texas Freight Services truck driver, Keith Edward Tedder, was caught on video surveillance in a theft scheme over a more than three week period.
Tedder is accused of stealing “a large quantity” of merchandise from shipments bound for Academy Sports Warehouse.
TCSO says it was tipped off by Texas Freight Services after receiving a complaint about boxes of merchandise that had gone missing.
Surveillance video from a Texas Freight Services terminal allegedly revealed that Tedder left boxes of merchandise at the company’s Jeffersonville, GA-terminal before eventually loading them into his personal vehicle.
Authorities then executed a search warrant on Tedder’s Twiggs County residence and discovered the missing merchandise, according to the TCSO.
He was arrested and is currently being held in the Twiggs County Jail.
Authorities say additional charges are also pending.
