Madison County, Kentucky – Kentucky State Police (KSP) have identified the body of a truck driver found deceased in his semi-truck on July 2nd and confirmed a murder investigation is underway.
According to KSP, 58-year-old Abdul R. Muzaki, of Canada, was found dead inside his semi-truck last Tuesday.
Muzaki’s tractor-trailer was first parked in the Shell Mart parking lot on the corner of KY-627 and US-25 Monday night, according to investigators.
Authorities were alerted to the scene late Tuesday afternoon by store employees who said the big rig had been idling since Monday night with no sign of the driver.
According to KSP investigators, officials believe an incident occurred in the overnight hours of Monday, July 1 which resulted in the death of Mr. Muzaki.
Transportation Nation Network (TNN) reported on Wednesday that an initial investigation of Mr. Muzaki’s big rig quickly led authorities to deem the circumstances as “suspicious.”
