Trucker Injured After Motorist Opens Fire in Road Rage Altercation

Williamson County, TN – Authorities in Tennessee have arrested a man accused of opening fire on a trucker in an act of road rage this week.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), the incident took place in the westbound lanes of Interstate 840 near mile marker 29 on Wednesday, September 8.


In a statement, WCSO said Vernon Brewer, Jr., 45, of Rossville, TN, shot at the driver of a semi-truck as a result of road rage.

The trucker, whose identity was not released, was transported to Williamson Medical Center and treated for a “minor injury.”

Authorities did not give details about the trucker’s injury, but stated he was released from the hospital the same day.

Additionally, officials did not provide any specifics about the gun used.


Detectives with WCSO are still investigating the incident.
