Trucker Issues Warning After Multiple Big Rigs Reportedly Attacked With “Large Objects”
Toomsuba, MS – A social media post went viral within the trucking community over the weekend after a trucker said his rig and numerous others fell under attack along Interstate 20 in Mississippi.
Truck driver Andrew Meeks issued a warning to drivers to be on alert while traveling along I-20.
“My wife Brandie Michelle Meeks and I along with 3 other drivers were attacked tonight on I-20 west bound in Mississippi, just east of Toomsuba mile marker 169,” he wrote on Saturday at 1:54 a.m. “Large objects and rocks were being thrown or launched at big rigs from an overpass.”
The accompanying photos showed extensive damage to multiple windshields.
Meeks described the sound of the rock smashing into the glass of his rig like “a cannonball.”
Further, Meeks said one driver was even struck in the face by a hurled rock.
However, he indicated each of the truckers who were attacked are “ok.”
“All our trucker friends be safe out there,” he urged.
