Trucker Knows Exactly What He’s Going To Do With $100K Lottery Prize

Boise, ID – An over-the-road trucker is the latest winner of the Idaho Lottery.

Christopher Martin, a long-haul trucker from Pocatello, won the very first top prize of $100,000 from the scratch game “Cash Renovation.”

Martin told the Idaho Lottery he plays regularly, but had never purchased a “Cash Renovation” ticket before.

“I had $110 in winning tickets, so I pocketed the $100 and played the remaining $10 on a game I had never played,” Martin explained. “I was playing on house money.”

Martin said he purchased the ticket at a Common Cents store in his home town.

He scratched the bar code and checked to see if the ticket was a winner.

He said the “sound” of winning was different than usual, and the clerk at the store told him he would need to go to Boise to claim his prize.

And that’s exactly what he did Tuesday morning.

“Oh my Lord!” he exclaimed when the ticket was scanned for payment at the Lottery Offices. “This could not have come at a better time!”

Martin explained he had been concerned over several expensive repairs to his semi-truck, and his $100,000 win relieved his concerns.

He plans to use a portion of his big win to fix his truck.

Martin’s Facebook page shows photos of him riding in a Freightliner Cascadia.
