
Trucker Reportedly Found in Semi After Shooting Woman in Domestic Dispute
Woodhaven, MI — Michigan authorities have reportedly arrested a trucker believed to have shot a woman during a domestic dispute while at a truck stop.
According to the News-Herald, the incident occurred in the early morning hours on Thursday at a Flying J Travel Center located at 21055 West Road.
Woodhaven Police said they received a call about a possible domestic assault in progress between an “out-of-state couple.”
After losing contact with the caller, officers dispatched to the scene where able to reconnect with the caller once on location.
Screaming could be heard in the background, according to police.
As officers were attempting to locate the couple, a gunshot was fired striking a woman in the leg.
A short time later, officers located the injured woman and also discovered a male, suspected of opening fire, inside the cab of a semi-truck.
He was subsequently taken into custody.
The female was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening wound.
It is not clear what led to the altercation.
Authorities have not yet identified the couple as an investigation remains ongoing and charges have not yet been filed.
