Trucker Who Won Shocking Political Victory Calls For U.S. Truck Drivers to Protest

Gloucester County, NJ — The long-time New Jersey trucker who won a shocking political victory last year is calling on truck drivers to protest.

In an appearance on Fox News last week, New Jersey State Senator Edward Durr (R) weighed in on the COVID-19 vaccination mandate for foreign cross-border truckers entering the U.S. — which began Saturday, January 22.

Calling it an “ill-thought policy,” Durr, who has been a professional truck driver for more than 25 years, argued the mandate will exacerbate the ongoing supply chain crunch and could lead to more empty shelves for American consumers.

“I go shopping just like you do and not finding things in the store is a problem… and it’s not just affecting the truckers,” he told Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

When asked if U.S. drivers should follow the lead of Canadian truckers who are protesting their country’s new cross-border vaccination, testing and quarantining requirements, Durr didn’t shy away from the issue.

“I would hope so to be honest with you because I think protests are going to help,” he said. “It’s going to make people take notice if they put their foot down and say, ‘We’re not going to take this.’”

So far, U.S. truckers have not organized any similar rallies or protests.
