Trucking Group Issues ‘Safety Alert’ Warning of ‘Possible Riots’ Ahead of Rittenhouse Verdict

Kenosha, WI — A trucking group has issued a safety alert warning of possible riots in the wake of the verdict in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse.

The Small Business in Transportation Coalition (SBTC) issued the “Driver Safety Alert” on Monday shortly before the highly-publicized murder case was concluded and put into the hands of the jury.

“SBTC is warning drivers to be prepared for social unrest and possible 2020-style riots in urban areas in the likely event Rittenhouse is acquitted,” the group said in an alert to its members. “SBTC is advising the industry to stay vigilant given the news that some cities like Chicago have canceled previously-approved time off requests for police officers in anticipation of further potentially violent and destructive social unrest.”

Rittenhouse shot three men killing two and injuring one during a Black Lives Matter riot in Kenosha, WI, in August of last year.

The riots were sparked after Kenosha Police Officer Rusten Sheskey shot Jacob Blake, an African-American, during an arrest.

Blake fought police and was reaching for a knife hidden inside his vehicle when Officer Sheskey opened fire striking him six times leaving him paralyzed.

After a review of the evidence, the U.S. Department of Justice and the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office declined to bring charges concluding Sheskey acted in self-defense and did not use excessive force.

As for Rittenhouse, he is facing multiple counts including homicide.

His defense argued he too acted in self-defense.

The case has enflamed passions among many within the community and around the country.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers (D) has deployed 500 Wisconsin National Guard troops in the event Rittenhouse is acquitted and social unrest again ensues.

After a summer in 2020 that saw many riots — following the murder of George Floyd while in police custody — which resulted in dozens of deaths, thousands injured, and a reported $1 billion in property damages, it is no surprise the SBTC is once again urging caution while operating in and around major U.S. cities.

Jury deliberations in the Rittenhouse case will begin Tuesday morning and a verdict could be reached at any time.

  1. Black Lives Matter riots caused $1 Billion dollars in damage and how many lost their lives, their businesses, and their homes to this barbaric Marxist organization’s insurrections? Where is the Congressional investigation and what is Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice doing in prosecuting this group of thugs? Crickets are chirping even in November. I hope this young man is aquitted of all charges.
