USA TRUCK HOSTS COMBATING HUMAN TRAFFICKING EVENT
Fort Smith, Arkansas – On Wednesday, August 29, USA Truck hosted a community event in co-ordination with Truckers Against Trafficking. On display was TAT’s mobile unit known as the “Freedom Drivers Project.” USA Truck has been working with TAT since 2015. USA Truck Chief Commercial Officer Tim Guin says the company takes its responsibility to train drivers to spot the signs of human trafficking very seriously. Arkansas governor, Asa Hutchinson, signed a law in 2017 requiring all commercial driver’s license holders and those seeking a CDL to take a mandatory training course in identifying and combating human trafficking.
According to TAT, there are upwards of 573,200 people who have received TAT training, which has resulted in the identification of 570 likely human trafficking cases. If you see any signs of possible human trafficking you are urged to call 1-888-373-7888.
