VIDEO: Children Run For Their Lives As Semi Plows School Bus

Henry County, Ohio – Two children ran for their lives as a semi-truck plowed into the rear of a stopped school bus in rural Henry County, OH, on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened at approximately 4:06 p.m. as the Archbold School District bus was stopped along U.S. Highway 6.

Authorities said two children were let off of the bus only seconds before it was struck.

Two bus passengers were injured and transported to a local hospital.

Video of the crash was captured by a surveillance camera of a local business, Triple 6 Outdoors.

If you look closely, you will see two children running for their lives after having just stepped out of the bus as the semi barrels into the back of the school bus. Watch it below.

Police have not yet filed a full accident report, but are expected to do so on Thursday.

It is still unclear what caused the semi driver to strike the bus.

However, the semi did not slow and appears to veer to the left to avoid a direct collision at the last second, which suggests the driver may have been distracted rather than suffering a medical situation.

Transportation Nation Network will update this story once we obtain the report from authorities.

  1. No excuses, please! Talk about being asleep at the wheel. Even if the bus driver failed to use his emergency stop warning lights, the truck driver was at fault. Ths could have been a horrible tragedy.
